How does it work?
The flexible shell extends from the back of the Calf, around the heel and under the sole of the foot. It's fully lined for comfort and has two adjustable straps between the Calf and sole of the foot which, when tightened, pull the toes up towards the shin. This 'dorsiflexed' position stretches the tissue of the sole of the foot known as the Plantar Fascia. When this stretch is sustained for a prolonged period (e.g. overnight) the Plantar Fascia is held in a better position for healing. Research has shown that night splinting is effective in relieving symptoms in over 80% of cases of Plantar Fasciitis.
The ProCare Plantar Fasciitis Night Splint comes with a cool terry liner for improved comfort, as well as an extra toe wedge that can be inserted for additional stretch of the Plantar Fascia if needed. |
